Cancellation and Refunds


CANCELLATION POLICY

 Professional and Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or combine program events that are below the minimum participant requirement.

Should a cancellation occur, we will contact you about the cancellation or about any alternative program event(s).

GENERAL INFORMATION

Some courses include a $60 non-refundable registration fee. In the event a refund is approved, this $60 fee will not be refunded.

Price changes are not retroactive. If the cost of a course is lowered before the course start date, refunds for the difference will be processed for those already registered. If the cost of a course is lowered after a course ends, participants who previously purchased the course will not be entitled to a refund.

Additional fees

Some courses may include additional fees for re-enrollment or administrative costs. All documents and emails should be read carefully to fully understand these fees.

REFUND POLICY FOR PROFESSIONAL AND CONTINUING EDUCATION

Self-Paced courses or programs are not eligible for a refund.

Classroom-based and Hybrid courses or programs: You must email the withdrawal request to pace@oregonstate.edu on or prior to twenty-one (21) days before the first day of class. All refund requests submitted after that deadline will be denied. If you enroll in the course or program after that deadline, you will not be eligible to receive a refund. Similarly, if you transfer to a later course/session, you will not be eligible to receive a refund

Cohort-based online courses or programs

To receive a 100% refund (minus the non-refundable $60 registration fee(s), if applicable) you must email the withdrawal request to pace@oregonstate.edu on or prior to the second day of class.

To be eligible for a refund, requests must be received no later than 48 hours after the class begins. If you enroll in the course or program after that 48-hour deadline, you will not be eligible for a refund. Similarly, if you transfer to a later course/session, you will not be eligible for a refund.

Bundles/Certificate Series

You must email the request to pace@oregonstate.edu by the cutoff (no later than the end of the second day of the first course).

Bundles/Certificate Series that are canceled by the cutoff, will receive a 100% refund minus the $60 non-refundable registration fee. Cancellation of the series after the cutoff will result in a $60 non-refundable registration fee being charged per course. Please see examples below.

Example 1

  • Participant registers and pays for a certificate series made up of 5 courses at $350 each. Pays total of $1810 ($350 per course plus one $60 non-refundable registration fee).
  • Before the cutoff, participant finds they are unable to complete the series.
  • Participant sends cancelation request to pace@oregonstate.edu prior to cutoff.
  • Participant receives a refund of $1750 ($1810 paid minus $60 non-refundable registration fee).

Example 2

  • Participant registers and pays for a certificate series made up of 5 courses at $350 each. Pays total of $1810 ($350 per course plus $60 non-refundable registration fee).
  • Participant wishes to cancel series.
  • Participant sends cancellation request to pace@oregonstate.edu after cutoff (This could be any time from the third day of the first course, to the final day of the last course.)
  • Participant receives a refund based on full price of courses they have begun ($350 per course plus $60 non-refundable registration fee per course) plus $60 non-refundable registration fee for each course not taken.

Sample

2 of the 5 courses have been taken or are beyond the cutoff: refund would be $810 - see below.

$1810.00 - Amount paid for course

- $820.00 - (full price for 2 courses taken or begun: $350 + $60 each)

- $180.00 - ($60 non-refundable registration fee for 3 remaining courses)

$810.00 (Refund amount)

Self-paced online courses or programs: No refunds will be granted

TRANSFER POLICY

Transfers are allowed once, only within the same course. i.e.: you may transfer from the Spring offering of a course to the Fall offering of the same course, but may not transfer to a different course or program. You are not eligible for a refund after a transfer has been made. 

A $60 transfer fee will be applied when you transfer enroll in the subsequent course. If you do not pay the $60 transfer fee before the first day of the course you transferred into, your enrollment for that course will be canceled. 

If you are unable to complete a course the second time and still wish to take it, you must re-enroll at full price.

Transfers are only available until one week before the end of the course. Transfers are not available for self-paced courses. 

If you wish to take advantage of the transfer option, you should contact pace@oregonstate.edu and include the following information:

  • Your name (or the name you used to enroll)
  • The name of the current course session
  • The start date of the current course session
  • The start date of the new session desired

You will be contacted with transfer instructions for your specific course.

Please note that the Permaculture Design Certificate course and the Permaculture Design Certificate PRO course have their own transfer policy and may include a re-enrollment fee as well. Please contact pace@oregonstate.edu if you wish to transfer your PDC or PDC PRO course.
