Unlock your full potential—and help others do the same—with Oregon State University’s Certified Professional Empower Coach (CPEC) program.
Whether you're just beginning your coaching journey or you're an experienced professional looking to sharpen your skills, the CPEC program offers a transformational path forward.
Designed for aspiring and established coaches, entrepreneurs, and professionals in leadership, HR, case management, and talent development, this immersive program equips you with everything you need to become a confident, certified coach.
The Certified Professional Empower Coach (CPEC) program stands out for its combination of deep personal transformation, professional excellence, and practical business readiness.
Unlike larger programs, CPEC offers a small cohort experience with individualized attention from expert faculty who are all certified coaches themselves.
This ICF-accredited certification gives you global credibility as a coach, while the program’s neuroscience-informed approach helps you understand how to create lasting, meaningful change with your clients.
Here’s what sets it apart:
This isn’t just training—it’s a full-circle coaching journey. You’ll walk away with a proven framework for coaching, the confidence to lead transformational conversations, and the tools to build a meaningful business.
Even after you finish the program, you'll stay connected through monthly alumni workshops, ongoing professional development, and a supportive coaching community that grows with you.
Earning your CPEC certification is more than checking a box—it’s a transformational experience that equips you to lead, coach, and thrive with confidence.
You'll gain both the technical foundation and the personal insight to create real, lasting impact.
Here’s what you’ll take with you:
This program is designed to not only certify you—but to empower you to lead, connect, and coach at your highest level.
The Certified Professional Empower Coach (CPEC) program is thoughtfully designed to guide you from foundational skills to professional coaching mastery. Through a combination of synchronous learning, flexible asynchronous coursework, and hands-on coaching practice, you’ll develop the confidence and competencies required to thrive as a certified coach.
Here’s how your journey unfolds:
Your coaching journey starts here with a strong foundation.
During this phase, you’ll build essential coaching skills, practice core models and techniques, and develop a coaching mindset rooted in curiosity, presence, and growth. The Foundations block emphasizes live, synchronous learning to deepen understanding and real-time application, while incorporating some asynchronous work to enhance flexibility.
You’ll complete a minimum of three hours of practicum coaching as you begin working with clients and applying your new skills in authentic coaching sessions.
Phase Two is your deep dive into professional coaching mastery.
Through a blend of synchronous and asynchronous learning, you’ll sharpen your ability to coach at a higher level as you master the ICF Core Competencies.
This block covers Core Competencies One, Two, and Three, with rich partner coaching experiences and the opportunity to be coached by an ICF PCC-level coach. You'll also join monthly Coaching Circles and Mindful Masterclasses to stay connected, inspired, and continually improving.
This phase includes a minimum of 12 hours of practicum coaching to help you build confidence and meet certification requirements.
Note: If you are a previously certified coach pursuing ICF certification, you may be eligible to transfer credit into the program and begin at this stage.
The final phase focuses on professional polish and certification readiness.
This stage is primarily asynchronous to offer maximum flexibility for your busy schedule. You’ll work one-on-one with a mentor coach who will review your recorded coaching sessions, providing detailed feedback aligned with ICF ACC-level requirements for testing.
During this phase, you will complete an additional 12 hours of practicum coaching, fine-tuning your skills as you prepare for the next step in your coaching career. Support continues through monthly Coaching Circles and Masterclasses, ensuring you’re fully equipped for success.

Graduates of the CPEC program are equipped with skills that can lead to opportunities with major coaching platforms like BetterUp, Headspace, and Coach.me.
Many also pursue launching private practices or working with organizations such as LinkedIn Learning, Noom, and ICF-accredited leadership development firms.
Whether you want to coach individuals, teams, or executives—or simply lead with more empathy and effectiveness in your current role—CPEC gives you the foundation to succeed.
Empower Coaching Academy values the diverse experiences and prior training that aspiring coaches bring to our program. Our CPEC Transfer Credit Policy allows qualified applicants to transfer applicable coaching education aligned with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Core Competencies into our Certified Professional Empowerment Coach (CPEC) program. Students who have completed ICF-accredited training programs may be eligible to transfer all completed hours, while those from non-accredited programs may transfer up to 33% of their hours. To be considered, applicants must provide verifiable documentation, including certificates of completion, syllabi, or course descriptions that demonstrate both the content and rigor of their prior education.
While we honor prior learning, certain essential components of the CPEC program—such as mentor coaching, practicum hours, and final assessments—must be completed through Empower Coaching Academy to maintain program integrity and ensure consistency in coach development. Transfer credit approval is determined by our admissions team, and applicants may be required to complete an assessment interview. If you're ready to build on your previous coaching foundation, our team is here to support your continued journey toward ICF-aligned certification.
This is more than a certification—it’s a catalyst for your next chapter.
If you're ready to elevate your career, expand your impact, and join a supportive community of growth-minded professionals, Oregon State’s Certified Professional Empower Coach program is your next move.
