Civil Rights Online Training

Course Overview

The Extension Civil Rights Online Training is a comprehensive and interactive course that covers the following key areas:

Introduction to Civil Rights in Extension.  You'll learn why civil rights compliance is critical for OSUES and how it benefits our community.

Federal Civil Rights Laws and Policies. You'll receive an overview of essential civil rights laws, including the Civil Rights Act, ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Title IX. 

Your Role and Responsibilities.  You'll explore the role every OSUES employee plays in ensuring civil rights compliance, including guidelines for inclusive programming and community outreach.

Reporting and Record-Keeping. You'll learn the protocols for collecting, documenting, and reporting civil rights data as part of our federal compliance obligations.

Responding to Civil Rights Concerns. You'll receive guidance on identifying potential violations, handling complaints, and ensuring program accessibility for all.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Best Practices. You'll dive into practical tips and strategies for enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in your work at OSUES.
