OHCC Enhanced and Exceptional Certifications | OHCC Oregon Home Care Commission

The 2013-2015 Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Oregon Home Care Commission (OHCC) and SEIU provided two new worker classifications with increased service payment rates. The two new worker classifications are Enhanced homecare and personal support workers and Exceptional personal support worker.

SB1534 (mandatory training) requirements are met once you have your Enhanced CertificationPay differential is $1.00 above base - rate of pay for consumer/employers who are pre-approved for the enhanced services

Readiness Assessment
OR
Professional Development Certification
Plus
CPR/First Aid Certification with demonstration of skills

Please also note:

CIIS PSWs - Exempt from prerequisites if supporting a person in transition; stipend eligible
DD PSWs - Enhanced Certification is a prerequisite for an Exceptional Certification

Cohort Model

Earn your certification with your peers; share life experiences while learning new techniques and skills
Collaborate and connect in multiple sessions for a total of 25 hours
Instructors with expertise training on health promotion; social interactions; activities of daily living; medical treatments; complex behaviors; and person-centered services

Continuing Education Information

Enhanced Certification valid for 24 months; may start renewing certification on the twelfth month.
