You’ll taste wines, explore global regions, learn how to evaluate structure and quality — and gain a framework you can use every day in your work.

Wine Workshop Overview

This wine course is designed to provide you with a comprehensive introduction to the wine industry and you'll gain an understanding of how wine is made — from the vineyard to the winery.

The course will cover the production of white, red, sparkling, and fortified wines, highlighting how decisions made during each stage of production impact the final product.

What You'll Learn

Over two days of focused, in-person training, you’ll gain essential knowledge in:

  • Wine Production: From vineyard to winery—what affects quality, style, and price

  • Grape Varietals: Key traits, regional expressions, and ideal conditions

  • World Wine Regions: Climate, soil, and styles from France to Napa and beyond and factors that make each region unique — such as
climate, soil, grape varieties, and winemaking styles

  • Wine Styles & Service: White, red, sparkling, and fortified wines—plus how to serve, pair, and recommend

Every lesson includes wine tastings that reinforce your learning and train your palate like a pro.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the course, you will have a clear framework for evaluating any wine or wine region. You will know how to objectively taste wine and identify components such as acidity, tannin, flavor profile, and overall style.

A core objective is to teach proper wine tasting techniques and how to interpret a wine's structure. The knowledge gained about varietals and regions will provide a lasting foundation for continued learning and enjoyment of wine.
