YOUTH ART CONTEST

Join Us in Celebrating Oregon Agriculture

Creativity for the Win!

To be a part of the contest, students will create an art piece representing a food grown or harvested in Oregon such as potatoes, apples, pears tomatoes and more.

The entries will be scored on creativity, neatness and depiction of Oregon food and agriculture.

All local entries will be displayed in a virtual Art Show or as part of First Friday Art walk downtown.

 

Winners and Prizes

1st, 2nd and 3rd prize will be awarded in two age categories (K-3 and 4-6 grades).

Prizes include:

  • OSU gear
  • Art/science kits
  • Grants Pass Growers Market gift certificate
  • And much more!

Guidelines

Draw a featured item in its natural environment such as growing or grazing in a field, during harvest, or being served at the table such as a glass of milk or a baked potato.

Include landmarks or nature features that represent Josephine County such as:

  • the river
  • eagles, osprey and other birds
  • gardens or berries
  • pear or apple orchard
  • evergreen trees
  • mountains
  • lakes
  • your school mascot
  • or other features the student can see/experience

Entry Rules

The following art formats will be accepted:

  • markers
  • crayon
  • watercolor
  • ink
  • acrylic
  • tempera paint or colored pencil

Not accepted: pastel, chalk, pencil. 3-dimensional or digital art

All entries must be on standard 11 by 8.5 inch paper, position art work to be HORIZONTAL direction only.

To be considered, the submission must include a signed entry form.

Enter now! Submit by July 1 to be eligible for prizes.

To Submit

Along with a completed entry form, please submit the art piece by:

  • Taking a photo (or scanning) and uploading it above
  • Taking a photo and emailing to Sharon.evans@oregonstate.edu
  • Mailing it to: Josephine County Extension Office 215 Ringuette Grants Pass, OR 97527
  • Dropping off at the Extension office above – if the office is not open you can deposit your art and entry form together in the mail slot (to the right of the front door)
