Marcia Torres-Ruiz

Marcia Torres-Ruiz  photoMarcia Torres-Ruiz (’01) recently moved back to Oregon and is currently the Global Talent Program Manager at Blount International, a global manufacturer supporting consumers and professionals operating in Forestry, Lawn, and Garden (“FLAG”); Farm, Ranch, and Agriculture (“FRAG”); and Concrete Cutting and Finishing (CCF) based in Portland, OR.  She began her career at Anheuser-Busch in Brewing at the Los Angeles brewery as a Brewing Manager and then realized her passion for recruitment, development and talent management.  With encouragement of her mentor, she became a Recruiter at the Williamsburg Brewery.  From there she learned the value of lean thinking, quality management systems, and program development in a Zone Training Manager role where she supported several breweries, corporate and global programs for ABInBev. 

Marcia graduated from Oregon State University with a BS in Food Science.  She now lives in Portland and enjoys spending time with her family and son, Leo, who is a high school freshman and rising soccer star.

 

Bruce Hohensee

Bruce Hohensee is currently leading the recruitment efforts for a rising Fintech, Sila Money, based in Portland, OR.

 He is also Principal and President of Talent Driven Consulting, a firm specializing in solving recruitment challenges for their clients.  TDC utilizes a process including behavioral assessment to ensure that their clients hire individuals who fit the role and organization.

Bruce has a B.S. in Paper Science Engineering from the University of Washington.  Before starting his own business, Bruce has been the North American Recruitment Manager for Hercules Incorporated, won numerous sales awards, developed training programs and been a leader and manager with several fortune 500 companies.  

 

Sharece M. Bunn

Sharece BunnSharece M. Bunn ’15 is the Assistant Director of International Student Engagement at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is passionate for social justice and equity and says that her passion for cultural and ethnic diversity stemmed from growing up in Dayton, Oregon where she learned from her peers who migrated to and from Mexico with the seasons.

Sharece holds a B.A. in English from Northwest Nazarene University, an M.S. in Journalism from the University of Oregon, and an Ed.M. in College Student Services Administration from Oregon State University. Sharece has twice served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine and loves to travel the globe and meet new people. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, wandering around with her camera, and going on mini adventures.

Macklin C. Turnquist

MacklinMacklin C. Turnquist (H.B.S. ChemE ’18) is a native of Portland, now working in Los Angeles, CA as an Automation and Validation Engineer at JSat Automation Inc. As an engineering consultant, he automates processes and develops process controls for companies mainly in the biotechnology industry. He has previous experience working as a process control engineer at Precision Castparts Corporation in Milwaukie, OR where he improved front end process control in an aerospace manufacturing facility.

At Oregon State, Macklin worked two MECOP internships at Boeing and Siltronic in the Portland area. He also had a study abroad experience at the University of Nottingham in the UK and research experience as a Johnson intern in Dr. Harper’s lab his freshman and sophomore year, which he later defended as his undergraduate honors thesis for his H.B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering. His hobbies include learning guitar, skiing, running, reading, and enjoying time spent with good friends. Macklin hopes to share his career experiences with OSU students and to help pay forward the advice he has received from many friends, family, classmates, professors, mentors, colleagues, job coaches, and engineers.

Yuliya Dennis

YuliyaDennisYuliya Dennis is the director of alumni career services at Oregon State University (OSU) Alumni Association and manages and oversees career programs for over 200,000 OSU alumni. OSU alumni career programs offers a diverse suite of programs to support alumni career success.

Yuliya also serves as the Assistant Vice President of Mentor Programs for Alumni Career Services Network (ACSN).  She was the recipient of the 2019 Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Rising Star award for her work in alumni relations. Yuliya received her BA in History, and her M.Ed in College Student Services Administration from OSU. She is eager to share her knowledge of what it takes to career transition successfully. 

Her motto is: Engage in what matters and support others in engaging in what matters to them.
