George Long

Professional Head Shot George Long

George Long ‘05 is an Assistant Operations Manager at the Bureau of Emergency Communications in Portland, Oregon after spending several years with the Willamette Valley Communications Center in Salem, OR. He has served in various roles including Call taker, Dispatcher, Communications Training Officer, and Supervisor. During his time as a Supervisor, George was assigned to oversee emergency preparedness aspects of the PSAP. He holds a Master’s in Emergency and Disaster Management and a Master’s in National Security Studies.

George has spent many years as a volunteer through other various organizations including Community Emergency Response Teams, Civil Air Patrol and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary where he spent time deployed in support of the Deepwater Horizon Response working in communications.

 

Kim Ward Barowicz

Kim Ward Barowicz '11 graduated from OSU with a B.S. in Psychology and currently works at UW Medicine as a Project Coordinator. She serves as an alumni career ambassador with the OSU Alumni Association. She loves living in Seattle, volunteering in her community and meeting new people.

The early years of her career were spent with wildlife conservation and animal welfare nonprofits. She now works on HR project teams because she enjoys helping people and organizations do the best work they possibly can.

 

Steve Ashley

Steve Ashley is a ‘11 grad of wood science and technology. After graduating he started his career with Georgia-Pacific Chemicals as a Technical Service Representative, which took him to Arkansas; where he currently resides with  a full house between him and his wife and 4 kids. 

He currently is the Technical Service Project Manager for the eastern region. 

 

Yuliya Dennis

Yuliya Dennis is the director of alumni career services at Oregon State University (OSU) Alumni Association and manages and oversees career programs for over 200,000 OSU alumni. OSU alumni career programs offers a diverse suite of programs to support alumni career success.

Yuliya also serves as the Assistant Vice President of Mentor Programs for Alumni Career Services Network (ACSN).  She was the receipt of the 2019 Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Rising Star award for her work in alumni relations. Yuliya received her BA in History, and her M.Ed in College Student Services Administration from OSU. She is eager to share her knowledge of what it takes to career transition successfully. 

Her motto is: Engage in what matters and support others in engaging in what matters to them.
