Help bridge the communication gap between patients and providers. In this engaging Spanish–English Health Care Interpreter program, you’ll gain the knowledge and hands-on experience to deliver accurate, culturally competent interpretation in medical settings.

This 64-hour hybrid training is designed for both new and experienced interpreters who want to:

  • Build the skills required to interpret confidently in health-care environments.
  • Meet the Oregon Health Authority’s formal education requirement for Qualification or Certification.
  • Learn from bilingual instructors who are practicing industry professionals.

Each week combines anatomy systems (like the cardiovascular or skeletal system) with real-world vocabulary exercises in English and Spanish to strengthen your medical terminology.

2.) Language-Neutral Health Care Interpreter Training

Instructor-Facilitated │ 100% Online (Remote)

If you speak English and another language—and want to make a difference in health care—this online training can help you start or advance your interpreting career.

In this 64-hour, fully online program, you’ll learn the skills and ethics required to interpret accurately and effectively in a variety of medical settings.

Program Highlights:

  • Health-care interpreter ethics (NCIHC standards)
  • Anatomy and medical terminology
  • Consecutive and simultaneous interpreting
  • Sight translation and remote interpreting skills
  • Weekly one-on-one practice and feedback with instructors

Each module focuses on a new anatomy system and corresponding terminology, reinforcing your command of English medical vocabulary.
