Landscape Plant Identification 1: Fundamentals

This course is a self-paced journey into the fundamentals of woody landscape plant identification. By the end of this course, you should feel prepared to identify characteristics required to distinguish woody plants that will be discussed in subsequent courses.

Instructors

Ryan Contreras

Dr. Ryan Contreras is a Professor of Horticulture at Oregon State University. He has held a research and teaching appointment at Oregon State since 2009. He is also an ornamental Plant Breeder and teaches four campus-based and Ecampus courses, including landscape plant identification I and II, growth and development of horticultural crops, and plant propagation.

Dan Blanchard

Dan Blanchard is a Graduate Research Assistant at Oregon State University. He's a graduate student with expertise in plant identification and growing knowledge of plant database and curation of living collections.
