This is a self-paced plant identification course covering 72, common in the horticulture industry, spring flowering trees and shrubs.

You will be applying the skills you learned in Landscape Plant Identification I- Fundamentals to distinguish the differences between these plants, but also the resemblances they share for categorizing them into their respective families.

Instructors

Ryan Contreras

Dr. Ryan Contreras is a Professor of Horticulture at Oregon State University. He has held a research and teaching appointment at Oregon State since 2009. He is also an ornamental Plant Breeder and teaches four campus-based and Ecampus courses, including landscape plant identification I and II, growth and development of horticultural crops, and plant propagation.

Dan Blanchard

Dan Blanchard is a Graduate Research Assistant at Oregon State University. He's a graduate student with expertise in plant identification and growing knowledge of plant database and curation of living collections.
