Course Overview

This module explores how international food safety systems work together to protect public health through shared responsibility, coordination, and integration.

You will examine the evolution of food safety reforms, including the impact of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), and the roles that government agencies and stakeholders play in building stronger systems.

You will also explore what makes integrated systems successful, what barriers commonly prevent integration, and how case studies illustrate real progress and practical pathways forward.

  • Explain foundations of success and practical steps for building integrated food safety systems (IFSS).
