In the Single-Sourcing and Methodology course you'll study workflows and learn how agile methodology can help you successfully work as a technical writer in any team. You'll also focus on editing existing technical writing documents in order to establish or work within brand standards for your organization. You will practice this process by creating a high-quality and accessible document that follows industry best practices.
What is Single-Sourcing?
Single-sourcing refers to a style of documentation management where every piece is written and saved separately. By learning how to work in this way, you can ensure that no content is ever duplicated, no matter how many times a section is needed in a certain document.
In this course, you will also establish best practices for your personal workflow to help keep you on track. Additionally, you will learn best practices for technical writing, including elements like using active voice in addition to following required legal and safety standards.
What You'll Learn

Understand and explain workflows.
Set up and understand file storage systems.
Name specific workplace preferences and strategies that contribute to your workflow.
Describe and understand the benefits of single-sourcing.
